San Diego Charter Buses

Home to 1.3 million people, San Diego is the second-largest city in California, famous for its beaches, universities, and diverse natural beauty. San Diego is also known for its proximity to Tijuana and its relaxed, laid-back atmosphere compared to the rest of Southern California.

As you might expect, the weather is fine just about any time of year, with temperatures around 74 degrees almost year round. Tourists and locals alike enjoy surfing, boating, rock climbing, kayaking, scuba diving, and whale watching. While there are many charter bus companies in San Diego, Metropolitan Shuttle is the one that can accommodate your plans no matter the size of your group. You can see the types of our vehicles and charter bus prices.

San Diego breaks down into several neighborhoods, including:

  • Downtown, the hub of business and tourist attractions
  • Balboa Park-Hillcrest, home to the museums, cafes, and the San Diego Zoo
  • Old Town-Mission Valley, the city’s historic district and hub of Mexican culture
  • Mission Beach-Pacific Beach, where you can find all the beach activities and nightlife
  • La Jolla, home to USCD and numerous beautiful beaches

There’s so much to do and see in the city, it would take months to see it all. But here are a few highlights to get you started on your San Diego adventure.

USS Midway Museum

One of the most unique museums in the world, the Midway Museum is the actual USS Midway, which served for 47 years (from Vietnam through Desert Storm) was the largest ship in the world until 1955. Decommissioned in 1992, the Midway is now a floating museum, employing 13,000 members and sixty locations available for self-guided audio tours. The Midway hosts thousands of students for field trips each year, making it a great destination for a school bus rental in San Diego. Other exhibits in the museum include aircraft (which visitors can climb aboard), flight simulators, videos, and more.

San Diego Zoo

Book a minibus rental in San Diego and head for one of the most popular zoos in the world, the San Diego Zoo is perhaps most famous for housing and breeding the giant panda. But the zoo houses over 3,700 other animals and over 650 species on its 100-acre grounds. Exhibits include the Monkey Trails and Forest Tales, the Owens and Scripps Aviaries, the Panda Trek, the Urban Jungle, the Polar Bear Plunge, the Elephant Odyssey, Absolutely Apes, and much more. One of the more unique features of the San Diego Zoo is the Skyfari, a gondola lift in which visitors can catch an aerial view of the zoo from high above. The San Diego Zoo is devoted to conservation efforts and raises and houses endangered species such as California condors, African black rhinos, and over a hundred others.

La Jolla Cave

Accessible by water (kayak or boat rental) from La Jolla Cove, or on foot for a $5 fee, the La Jolla Caves are a rare treasure. From here, you can see California sea lions up close and personal, chill out on the beach, or explore tidal pools. Local scuba and snorkel clubs offer guided classes and tours in the summer, and experienced locals can guide visitors around the awe-inspiring caves. Just be prepared to get wet — the crashing waves are bound to spray you with seawater. The La Jolla Caves are not for the claustrophobic (the trip down is through a dark underground tunnel), but the view is work it. Because parking can be a challenge, a tour bus rental is perfect for this San Diego landmark.

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

Nature lovers rejoice! Torrey Pines is two thousand acres of coastal state park. Gather your friends and book a shuttle bus rental for this sprawling San Diego spectacle. Bordered by a golf course on one side and the city of Del Mar on the other, the reserve boasts cliffs that overlook the beach and all manner of wildlife, including bobcats, foxes, coyotes, and rabbits. There are miles of trails for hikers, and a museum atop the hill for history enthusiasts. At certain times of year, it’s even possible to watch whale migrations from the cliffs overlooking Torrey Pines State Beach.

SeaWorld San Diego

True fans of marine life can also check out SeaWorld San Diego, which combines the appeal of a theme park, aquarium, and marine mammal park in one place. SeaWorld features animal habitats, rides, shows, events, and unique experiences that can’t be found anywhere else. Visitors can watch live shows featuring dolphins, sea lions, exotic birds, and killer whales. In between shows, relax on the Bayside Skyride, a gondola ride that travels on a six-minute journey over the park. Afterward, you can check out the penguins and beluga whales, or have shrimp and fresh fruit at Pineapple Pete’s Island Eats.
