One of the most well organized races I have ever seen.  With over 40,000 runners Im sure it can be difficult to coral that many people.  Amazing support from the local charities with them donating at least 100 volunteers per organization.  The wave style coral starts are flawless.

Honestly, what’s not to love about this baseball venue….  It’s a perfect size to be able to sit anywhere and have great seats. And if your in the first 10 rows, it feels like you are truly a part of the game; especially if a foul ball comes right up to the wall and your inches from an outfielder making the play.

Transportation in and Around Charleston

Charleston features an extensive bus system operated by the Charleston Area Regional Transport Authority, connecting to the city’s historic downtown and commercial district. Visitors may also use the DASH (Downtown Area Shuttle) trolley buses, which feature three trolley lines that are free to ride to the major shops and attractions.

As one of the largest ports in the United States, the Port of Charleston also features five terminals for water traffic, including the cruise ship passenger terminal at Union Pier. Visitors looking for a change of pace when moving around the city can even take a Charleston Water Taxi for a $10 all-day pass. The Charleston Water Taxis double as both a means of transportation and a sight-seeing service, offering dolphin watch and sightseeing cruises.

Road traffic in Charleston tends to concentrate on the I-26 going toward Columbia during the morning rush hours, especially during the summer months when tourist traffic is up. Visitors looking to drive in Charleston but avoid the brunt of the I-26 traffic might try SC-176 as an alternative route.

Houston Northcutt Boulevard is also subject to some intense driving traffic, as is the I-526 off US 17. For visitors to Charleston looking to avoid the pitfalls of driving in the city, the Metropolitan Shuttle features charter buses for easy transportation all around the city.

“When the Department tasked your company to come up with drivers, vans & buses to support the G20 summit on such short notice, you not only met that challenge, but were resourceful in getting us photos and bio data needed to meet the security requirements. (We have a total of 44 drivers) with only 8 DOS drivers as well as all the vehicles needed – this is indeed an accomplishment!”

G20 Summit

“I just wanted to send you a note thanking you for the great service you gave the St. David Show Choir during our recent visit to California. The buses were always nice and prompt and the bus drivers were very courteous, We hope to use your company on future visits. Thank you again.”

St. David Arizona Show Choir

“Thank you for all of your help during the past few weeks. We couldn’t have made it through L.A. Screenings … without you!”

“Thank you for your kind assistance to the Office of Homeland Security. It was a pleasure working with you.”

U.S. Department of Homeland Security

“I am an attorney and the coordinator for a golf trip for our firm’s clients in Birmingham.  I was recently left in a bind with another transportation company at the last minute.  I called Metropolitan and reached Nevin.  He immediately took care of me and rectified the situation – he responded to everything quickly, got everything I needed arranged, and had a great personality while doing it.  I just wanted to drop a note since customer service can be such unrewarding work as I feel that people are quicker to point out the negatives rather than the positives in this business.  Nevin did a job well done.”

Hennessy & Roach, P.C.

“Thank you, thus far, for your shuttle services from Morehouse School of Medicine to Grady Memorial Hospital. We have received numerous of compliments of vehicles as well as time efficiency. I kindly request for shuttle driver, Isaac, to frequently transport us to our locations. He is a careful and professional driver with extensive knowledge of the downtown Atlanta area as well as familiar with our time schedule and route. Again, thank you for your services.”

Morehouse School of Medicine

“Everything went off without a hitch. Your limos and buses were perfect, and very accommodating given the flexibility we needed with the rain. By all means, I won’t hesitate to call you for anything we need or refer my friends for anything they may need in the future.”

Private event

“Things went superbly; words cannot describe how amazing things went. This was my first year to act as Social Chair and put large groups like this and then move them for a night of fun. But ya’ll helped so much with finding the extra buses I needed in such a small time, I didn’t think it could be done but ya’ll proved me wrong. Andy kept me updated and helped out more than was necessary and was right on top of everything. He helped me understand what would be needed and expected and I hope that everything on our side went well. The service was great; the bus drivers introduced themselves, gave me cell phone numbers, and were very friendly to everyone that rode. Then we were off and everything ran smoothly. I cannot stress how grateful I am and how amazing the buses were, everything went better than planned. Thank you so much for the service and you went above and beyond our standards, you have a great company and we will definitely use you in the future… maybe with a little more time to spare (haha). Thank you again and if there was anything that [you] were concerned about on our part, please let me know so I can make changes in the future.”

Oklahoma State University

“I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your help and support in coordinating the bus transportation for our employee meetings… As I mentioned to you when I first contacted Metropolitan, the drivers were late the last two years but this year, thanks to you, your driver Eric was at the facility earlier than the designated time. Because of this, our employees arrived at our main plant in a timely manner and the meetings started very promptly.”

Palladon Iron Corporation

“I wanted to thank and compliment you, your company, and most of all, your driver. Your response to our request for a quote was fast and efficient. You showed both courteous and professional service. We had already had scheduled and paid for our trip with another bus service when they cancelled three days prior to our service date. You got us back “on track” within hours of that cancellations at a competitive price. Your driver was exceptional. He was dressed in a well pressed suit, courteous beyond belief, and a excellent and safe driver. You have won all our future business.”

Hinsdale Cub Scouts

“I really appreciate the fact that you understood my concern about the driver being on-time. I was really worried that 2008 would be a repeat of 2006 and 2007 but thanks to you, everything went smoothly. I can assure you that I’ll call Metropolitan again in 2009. Thank you again for your outstanding work on this request. I enjoy working with people who pay attention to details and who make it a point to provide good customer service. You scored very high on both counts! Have a great day.”

Hon. Consul of the Kingdom of Belgium in Illinois & Indiana

I wanted to thank you for all of your assistance with our event this past weekend. The drivers were prompt and courteous and I received more than 1 compliment about them from the graduates, especially Glenn, whom the riders found very amusing.

They were fantastic at communicating with me and making sure that we were all on the same page and I am looking forwarding to booking your company for my next event.

Red Lion-Concordia University

“We had a wonderful time this weekend and it couldn’t have happened without great transportation. I had no references and got your co. from a Google Search and we were very pleased. The driver was early, the bus was nice and clean and Danny our driver was very good and personable. Based on my experience I would use Metropolitan again and recommend to my friends.”

Spread the Word Ministries

“I didn’t want the week to end without getting I touch with you to let you know in writing how satisfied we were with everything from beginning to end… your professionalism, our changes and your willingness to accommodate them. The bus was beautiful.  Mr. Thomas, our driver was fantastic.  A total professional.  Everyone raved about how wonderful he was.  How well he managed the high volume of traffic in Manhattan on the day of our trip.  He got our group here from NY to PA happy, safe and in good time… We are planning our next event and are looking at the logistics involved of shuttling guests every hour on the hour for a 24-hour period from the NJ transit station to our next locale.  We are keeping Metropolitan Shuttle at the top of our list for all our future transportation needs.”

The Shuttah Group

The service provided was excellent. We did not have any complaints with Bus that was provided or the drivers. There was a very high level of professionalism being exemplified by the office team (Chanel) and the drivers. I would highly recommend Metropolitan Shuttle to other clients. The level of service deserves 5 stars. Thanks again!
