The United States inauguration occurs upon the commencement of the new term of a President. The only constitutionally required component of the affair is for the President to make an oath, allowing him admission into the executive office of presidency. However, over the years the inauguration has accumulated a bounty of activities including parades, speeches, and balls, making it a very patriotic, emblematic, and celebrated event. The inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President took place on January 20th, 2009. It symbolized a colossal transition in American history, and according to television monitoring and Internet traffic, it was found to be one of the most observed events ever by the global audience.

Notably, the Presidential Inaugural Committee reached out to ordinary citizens in the 2009 inauguration, and for the first time the entire National Mall was open to the public for viewing of the ceremony. Metropolitan Shuttle, offering services of charter buses, rental buses, bus charters, and bus rentals, played a significant role in the security, the management of crowds, and the comfort of the workers of the inauguration. Metropolitan Shuttle was contacted by FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to coordinate the stationing of twenty buses around the premises of the inauguration in D.C. For three days, Saturday through Monday, buses served as seating and warming stations for the large number of people working for the inauguration, and this proved to be completely necessary as it was a very cold winter.

Additionally, Metropolitan Shuttle worked closely with the FBI and Capital State Police during the inauguration for security against the massive amount of people attending the event. Thirty buses were concentrated around classified areas on Capitol Street, and acted as a barricade against unauthorized citizens. The barricade prevailed for twelve hours and was a complete success. Clearly Metropolitan Shuttle’s services can address a wide range of needs, from transporting a group of people to a reunion to securing warming stations for the workers of an important patriotic event. Metropolitan Shuttle’s participation in Barack Obama’s inauguration proves its services to be both trustworthy and exemplary.
