How far in advance should I book an LA charter bus?
How far in advance should I book an LA charter bus?
For standard corporate or social events, 2 or 3 weeks out is typically sufficient. For major events like the Rose Bowl, Dodger Stadium playoffs, Hollywood Bowl concerts, or anything at SoFi Stadium, one should plan on 4-8 weeks. The closer to event day, the fewer vehicles are available and the higher the rate. For New Year’s Eve and the Tournament of Roses, bookings often come in months ahead. Don’t wait.

An 18-24 passenger minibus for a local half-day typically runs $500–$900. A full-size 56-passenger coach runs $850–$2,200 depending on hours, distance, and amenities. Most trips have a 4–5 hour minimum, which reflects driver time, pre-trip inspection, fuel, and staging. If you need a straightforward point-to-point transfer, for example, LAX to a hotel in Beverly Hills, contact us directly. We can often accommodate shorter trips depending on vehicle availability.
Can you pick up at LAX?
Can you pick up at LAX?
Yes, and we do it . Commercial charter vehicles use the LAX Bus Center on 96th Street. Tell us your flight numbers when booking and we handle the rest.
How many people can a charter bus hold?
How many people can a charter bus hold?
We operate vehicles from 18-passenger minibuses to 56-passenger full-size coaches. If your group exceeds 56, we dispatch multiple vehicles and coordinate them as a convoy with consistent timing. Can you handle multi-stop itineraries across Los Angeles?
Yes — this is one of the most common requests we get, and Los Angeles makes it a necessity. Groups routinely need pickup from multiple hotels, stops at multiple venues, and drop-off at separate locations. We build the full itinerary with you before the trip. Nothing is improvised.
What is the difference between a charter bus and a shuttle service?
What is the difference between a charter bus and a shuttle service?
A charter bus is dedicated exclusively to your group for the duration of your booking. You control the route, the schedule, and the stops. A shuttle runs a fixed route on a set schedule and may carry other passengers. For private groups, charter is almost always the right choice — it’s faster, more flexible, and the vehicle is yours from pickup to drop-off.
Are your drivers licensed and insured in California?
Are your drivers licensed and insured in California?
Yes. All drivers hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement, are DOT-compliant, and undergo background checks. We carry $5 million in liability coverage per occurrence — significantly above the industry minimum. California PUC operating authority is maintained across our fleet.

Contact your Metropolitan Shuttle coordinator before the scheduled end time — not after. We can extend most trips depending on driver hours and vehicle availability. Extensions are billed hourly at the rate established at booking. We’d rather you call early than have your group stranded because you waited.
How much does it cost to charter a bus in Los Angeles?
How much does it cost to charter a bus in Los Angeles?
This is often the first question everyone asks. People must be aware of the financial ramifications. Rarely is the response a straightforward flat rate; instead, it relies on a number of variables, such as:
Duration of the rental: rentals that are hourly, daily, or longer-term will have different cost structures.
Distance traveled: Mileage fees will increase with the length of the trip.
Bus type: The cost will vary depending on the bus’s size and features (minibus, full-size coach with restrooms, Wi-Fi, and entertainment systems, for example).
Day of the week and season: Holidays, weekends, and peak seasons frequently see more demand, which drives up costs.
Extra charges: Possible expenses for parking, tolls, driver’s lodging (for overnight excursions), and tip.
Particular places in Los Angeles: Pricing may be impacted by accessibility and traffic in particular areas of the city.
What bus size is appropriate for my group?
What bus size is appropriate for my group?
Choosing the right charter bus size in Los Angeles is essential for both cost-effectiveness and comfort. Groups often overestimate or underestimate the amount of space they require. Certain information will be required to make the proper determination:
- Number of passengers: This is the most important component.
- Luggage and equipment: If the group has a lot of luggage (for example, for excursions or airport transfers) or equipment (for example sports teams), they’ll need a bus with ample storage space, most likely a full-size coach bus.
- Level of Comfort: Some groups desire extra space, even if the bus is not filled to capacity.
Metropolitan Shuttle offers a wide range of vehicles, from 14 passenger vans and minibuses of varying sizes (for smaller groups) to full-sized coach buses (for larger groups, often seating up to 56 passengers).
How far in advance should I book a charter bus in Los Angeles?
How far in advance should I book a charter bus in Los Angeles?
Pricing in this industry is very much driven by supply and demand and periodic capacity constraints; therefore, the sooner you book, the less likely you will experience limited availability and consequent price spikes. Long story short, it’s hard to say exactly how far in advance you should book, but we recommend 2-3 months, and even more if you know your event will coincide with a major LA event. Some considerations include:
- Seasonal demand (especially during peak tourist seasons and graduation periods)
- Schedule of popular events like concerts, sporting events, or conventions
- Last-minute bookings are often possible but will usually be more costly
- Booking timelines for holiday periods when demand is high
