Sprinter van rental in Philadelphia: what two real 2026 trips cost, and when a van beats a minibus
Two groups rented Sprinter vans from us in Philadelphia this year, and between them they bracket the class. Twelve people rode from the Notary Hotel on North Juniper Street to an address on East Swamp Road in Doylestown on a Sunday afternoon in September, one way, for $450. A group rode from the W Philadelphia on Chestnut Street to Xfinity Mobile Arena on a Wednesday evening in January, with the van waiting through the event and a return timed for an 11:15 PM arrival back at the hotel, for $950. Those are invoices, and they are the fastest way to understand what a Sprinter costs in Philadelphia and when it is the right vehicle.
Metropolitan Shuttle is a transportation management company that has arranged Philadelphia charter bus rental since 2001. We do not own the vans. We vet the operators who do, confirm insurance and safety records before booking, and assign one coordinator who owns your trip start to finish.
Two recent Philadelphia Sprinter van trips and what they cost
| Trip | When | Passengers | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Notary Hotel, 21 N Juniper St, to 130 East Swamp Rd, Doylestown, PA, 1:15 PM pickup, one way | Sunday, September 13, 2026 | 12 | $450 |
| W Philadelphia, Chestnut St, to Xfinity Mobile Arena, S Broad St, 5:30 PM pickup; return from the arena timed for an 11:15 PM hotel arrival | Wednesday, January 14, 2026 | Up to 14 | $950 |
Prices are per van, driver included.
The $450 one-way to Doylestown.
Thirty-five miles up Route 611 on a Sunday afternoon, a drop, and the van released. A one-way transfer is priced as a flat trip, not against the minimum, which is why twelve people got a chauffeured ride to Bucks County for $37.50 a head. This is the Sprinter’s natural work: a bridal party to a venue, a board to a retreat, an executive team to a client site, anywhere the group is small, the bags are few and the ride needs to be comfortable.
The $950 arena evening.
Six hours on a January Wednesday: a 5:30 PM pickup at the W on Chestnut Street, three miles down Broad Street to the arena, the van parked through the event, and a return that put the group at the hotel at 11:15. About $160 an hour, the top of the published Sprinter band, because a weeknight event at the sports complex is a held vehicle with a driver on standby for five hours, not a transfer. A party bus would have cost more; a minibus would have carried empty seats.
How much does a Sprinter van rental cost in Philadelphia?
Published 2026 rates for a Sprinter or executive van in Philadelphia are $110 to $160 per hour on a four-to-five-hour minimum, and $900 to $1,200 for a standard day. The two trips above landed at $450 for a one-way transfer and $950 for a six-hour evening. The difference is the minimum: a drop is a flat trip, a held evening bills the hours. Our Philadelphia charter bus cost article has the full picture, and the Philadelphia charter bus rental hub has the rate table by bus type.
What a Philadelphia Sprinter van carries
- 12 to 14 forward-facing seats, high roof, standing headroom down the aisle
- Climate control, USB power, and on most vans a rear cargo area behind the last row
- No restroom and no underfloor bays: carry-ons and garment bags, not a suitcase per seat
- Executive configurations with leather captain’s chairs and a table on request
For fifteen or more, or for a group with checked luggage, step up to an 18 or 20-passenger minibus.
